Sailboat Bimini Tops

When we first began Northstar Products we specialized in Pontoon Bimini Tops. We wanted to test the waters a bit to see how we would fair amidst so much competition. We didn't want to offer too much too soon and find ourselves in the position a lot of companies end up in...going out of business by growing too fast. We have been doing this quite awhile now and attempted to slowly grow the business into other avenues. We began with making bimini tops 10' wide to accomodate houseboats and boats with a wider beam. That went really well too. Over this winter we decided to make all of our bimini tops for pontoons and houseboats with a 1.25" square frame option. So now instead of a 1" square frame you can get the more popular 1.25" frame. That decision was driven by our customers and potential customers. There was enough interest that we felt good about bringing it to life. We are grateful we listened to our customers! The frames are going over very well. This brings us to the sailboat bimini tops. Those of you with a sailboat do not want square tubing for the framework. Stainless steel round is the metal of choice for sailboats. We have been workin wtih stainless as American Canvas for over 35 years. The trick has always been to knock the frame down for shipping and have it reassembled with close to the same strength and integrity. We figured out an amazingly simple way of doing that. You can read more about how we do it in a previous blog. Sailboat bimini tops are special in that most require a pass through for the backstay. We along with the help of one of our customers came up with a great way to do that as well.
Practical and easy. Looks great and is extremely user friendly. All we need to know is the length, width, and heigh of the bimini you want. There is no need to spend an outragous amount of money on a bimini top made at a custom canvas shop. We can help you out and provide the much needed shade and function you so desire. Check us out.
